Embassy Interview
We arrived at the Embassy about 5:15am there were 25-30 people in two lines, we got in line with all the other people with x-ray envelopes thinking there was a reason for this, when we got to the front of the line only to see they were letting in 4-5 people at a time alternating from each line. We got through security and walked inside, the time was 6:50am. Went directly to window 5 and turned in documents, I had to go back to security to get my wife's ID card, they want birth cert and ID plus house registration, it does say (or) so I thought birth cert was good, not a problem.
Wife's name was called at 8:15 ; window 7, I went up and stood next to her. The very first question was asked to me, where did you come from this morning, then asked my wife how we met, how many times have I been to see her, then asked me to tell him about my first trip to Thailand, I told my story and he said "I am convinced". he then asked my wife where she learned English and passed the DS-230 under the window my wife signed it and passed it back, he said come back tomorrow at 3:00pm to pick up the visa, then passed a card with that info on it. Done at 8:25am never asked for any evidence, I had e-mail , postcards, phone bill , customs forms from packages, photo album and that was it.
We helped a woman fill out her DS-230 and then made our way out, walked across the bridge and into the towers, up to 11th floor for brunch...oh what a feeling !
